The Women's Caucus of the Virginia Young Democrats is the official arm of the Democratic Party in Virginia specifically for young women. Open to anyone under the age of 36 who affiliates with the Democratic Party, VAYD is a grassroots organization with 31 chartered local chapters.
Our mission is to promote the involvement of young women in the political process in Virginia, and develop the next generation of female leaders within the Democratic Party. We work with local chapters of the Virginia Young Democrats to assist them in making their chapters more open and inclusive of young women, and to make women a significant and growing portion of their member. Our efforts are geared towards making the political process more inclusive and responsive to the needs of women. We strive for the advancement of women in elected and appointed positions throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. Finally, by acting on women's issues at all levels of government, we support the broader agenda of the Democratic Party.
