The VAYD Exec Board is a board of volunteers that want to see VAYD succeed. To be successful, each officer should be able to dedicate about 15 hours of VAYD work per week, depending on what is going on. Exec Board members are expected to attend quarterly Exec Board meetings and make time for conference calls as they are necessary. They also must be willing to engage in communication with other Exec members, chapters in their area, and be willing to help organize events for VAYD. They also must be willing to assist in fundraising activities.
President
The President shall be the official spokesperson for the Virginia Young Democrats, as provided for by the Executive Committee, shall be the chief administrative officer of the Virginia Young Democrats, and shall supervise the affairs of the Virginia Young Democrats between meetings of the Executive Committee.
Executive Vice President
The Executive Vice President assists the President in any capacity necessary, and also helps communicate with other Exec Board members and implement VAYD programming.
Vice President of Membership
The VP of Membership focuses on identifying new clubs across Virginia, engaging them in communication, and helping guide them through the chartering process either mid-year or for the annual VAYD Convention
Vice President of Campaigns
The Vice President of Campaigns serves as a contact point for both local and statewide campaigns for VAYD. He or she can manage VAYD's campaign programs, as well as organize and implement VAYD Campaign Invasions.
Vice President of Issue Advocacy
The Vice President of Issue Advocacy spends his or her time staying on top of policy issues throughout the year. When issues arise that are an opportunity for VAYD to make a stance on a statewide-level, the VP Issue Advocacy takes up that charge. Also, the VP Issue Advocacy works directly with Issue Caucus Chairs to utilize and direct them. The VP Issue Advocacy also works with our Exec Board to plan and implement the yearly VAYD Lobby Day in Richmond.
Vice President of Communications
The Vice President of Communications works to help the Exec Board coordinate official communication with the media. He or she writes press releases, keeps an up-to-date press list, and is on-call to help Exec members and chapter leaders in media communication.
Vice President of Finance
The Vice President of Finance works in conjunction with the President, the Treasurer, and the rest of the Exec Board in focusing on fundraising.
National Committeewoman and National Committeeman
The National Committeewoman and Committeeman serve as official representatives from the Virginia Young Democrats to Young Democrats of America. They must be available throughout the year to attend YDA Conventions nationwide and represent the interests of VAYD.
Secretary
The Secretary shall maintain a list of each member of the Executive Committee, each club member included in the last set of charter application, and all other members of the Virginia Young Democrats desired to be included in such a list. The Secretary shall cause an Internet web site to be maintained and regularly updated for the organization. In addition to any other Internet electronic mail discussion lists maintained for the organization, the Secretary shall cause an Internet electronic mail discussion list to be maintained for the organization that includes the electronic mail addresses required to be collected and updated.
Treasurer
The Treasurer or his or her designee shall present a report at each Executive Committee meeting. Such report shall include, but not be limited to, the balance of funds in the organization's financial accounts and any reports from the Budget Committee. The organization's financial records shall be open to inspection by any member at any reasonable time.
Outreach Chair
The role of the Outreach Chair is to serve as a contact point for like-minded organizations across the state and nationwide who could work with VAYD. The Outreach Chair also helps chapters identify organizations in their communities that they could also coordinate efforts with.
Internet Director/Webmaster
The Internet Director is not an elected position; rather it is a position that is applied for and chosen by the Executive Board. The Internet Director is in charge of maintaining the VAYD website, as well as any additional websites that the Board decides are necessary.
The Council of Presidents Chair
The CoP Chair is elected in a meeting by chapter presidents. The CoP Chair's job is to work with the Constituency Chairs to communicate with chapters throughout the year. They also must organize occasional CoP meetings, either in conjunction with VAYD Exec Meetings or through conference calls. The CoP Chair also represents the interests of chapters in Exec Board votes. As per the Constitution, the CoP Chair has to currently be a president of a chapter.
The City/County Caucus Chair is elected by City/County chapters to serve as a contact point for City/County chapters to the Exec.
The College Caucus Chair is elected by the College Chapters to serve as a contact point for College chapters to the Exec Board. The College Caucus Chair also serves as the representative for Virginia to College Democrats of America.
The Teen Caucus Chair is elected by the Teen Chapters to serve as a contact point for College chapters to the Exec Board.
Region Chairs:
Region Chairs are elected by the chapters in their respective regions. The Region Chairs work throughout the year with the VP Membership to identify new chapters that could be chartered at Convention. They also work to coordinate regional efforts during elections to maximize VAYD efforts throughout the state. The Region Chairs are as follows:

Issue Chairs:
Issue Chairs are elected by any parties interested in that caucus at Convention. The Issues Chairs work throughout the year with the VP Issue Advocacy, President, and the rest of the Exec board to implement any necessary programming and communication about legislative issues both to our chapters and statewide. They also generate materials to help chapters succeed in issue advocacy as needed. Issue Chairs work with the VP Issue Advocacy to plan VAYD's annual Lobby Day. The Issue Chairs are as follows:
