Its Primary Day! GO VOTE!

Today is Primary day in Virginia. You’ve got a few more hours until the polls close and I hope every Virginia Democrat heads out to cast their vote.

It is an exciting time to be a Democrat in Virginia and an even more exciting time to be a Young Democrat. This is the year of the young voter. In Iowa, youth turnout went from representing 6% of the electorate in 2004 to representing 20% in 2008. In New Hampshire youth participation increased to 18%. In South Carolina, three times the amount of people under 30 voted in 2008 than in 2004. And it is my hope that here in Virginia we set another record.

Let’s show the rest of the country the Virginia voters care about the issues and that our voices will be heard. Virginia is poised to turn blue and with the help of young voters, we will put a Democrat back in the Whitehouse.
