The election is over, Thanksgiving has passed, and December is on the horizon full of holidays and final exams. While this time of year is usually dedicated to relaxing and concentrating on studies, VAYD has two events that will both be fun and relaxing while helping to elect a great Democrat.

Give Thanks for VAYD Happy Hour

If you live in the Northern Virginia area, head over to Jay's Salon, this Friday starting at 7pm to join YDs from the area for a networking and socializing event. Jay's Saloon is located at at 3114 10th St N, Arlington. Suggested contributions are $10, $20, and $50. To RSVP click here.

VAYD Campaign Invasion for Phillip Forgit for US Congress

Democrats have the unique opportunity to elect a great candidate in the 1st Congressional District special election being held on December 11th. Philip Forgit, an Iraq war vet and a recipient of the 2005 National Education Association (NEA) Award for Teaching Excellence is the democratic nominee for the seat. Philip needs your help if we are send him to Congress on December 11th. To help in this effort, the Virginia Young Democrats are organizing an invasion for Saturday, December 8 starting at 11am. YDs from across the Commonwealth will gather at the Forgit for Congress Headquarters located at 2 Hidenwood Shopping Center, Newport News, for a day of fun and politics.
