Hello Virginia Young Democrats! In your communities and college towns, your efforts and your votes can put Tom Perriello, Gerry Connolly, and Glenn Nye over the edge. I know that each an every chapter will be hitting the doors and the phones for victory, but we want to put you to the test. With the generous support of the Democratic Party of Virginia, we are going to offer prizes to the three chapters who make the biggest impact!
First Prize: A table at the annual Jefferson Jackson Dinner next winter in Richmond, four VIP tickets to the VAYD J. Sargeant Reynolds Dinner in December, and a Virginia Democratic VIP visit to one of your chapter's meetings.
Second Prize: Four VIP tickets to the J. Sargeant Reynolds Dinner and a Virginia Democratic VIP visit to one of your chapter's meetings.
Third Prize: Two VIP tickets to the J. Sargeant Reynolds Dinner and a Virginia Democratic VIP visit to one of your chapter's meetings.
How do you win? Collect the most points! Chapters can earn one point for every door knocked, phone call made, or voter registration form collected. To level the playing field for the smaller chapters, the raw number of points will be divided by your active volunteers (so, if you have 5 volunteers make 100 phone calls, your score will be 20; if you have 10 volunteers make 200 phone calls, your score will also be 20).
Get credit for your work by emailing your volunteer totals using the Activity Log (which was sent to chapter presidents) each week, Sunday by 6pm, to Sarah Buckley at campaign_director@vayd.org. If you have any questions about using the Activity Log or are a chapter president who has not received one, email Lauren.Gilbert10@gmail.com. Double points will be awarded for voter contacts made at an official VAYD invasion, so sign for the invasions on facebook today!
