Praying for Virginia Tech
The Virginia Young Democrats asks all Virginians to keep the students, faculty and staff of Virginia Tech in their thoughts and prayers today.
On behalf of VAYD and all our member clubs, we send our heartfelt condolences to those who have lost friends and loved ones, and our hopes for a speedy recovery to those who have been injured in this horrible and incomprehensible act of violence
All of Virginia shares in the pain that Blacksburg has suffered this morning, and all of Virginia will stand strong to helping our friends move forward from this terrible day.
As we receive more information on how you can help the students and families in their recovery.
UPDATE: Students have created a facebook group to express their condolences as well. You can join it and share your thoughts here. Also, please consider a donation to the American Red Cross in honor of those who lost their lives today.

Tragedy for All Virginians
I can not describe the immense shock and sadness I feel as I watch the coverage of these events. My heart goes out to all the students, faculty, and staff of VA Tech as well as to the thousands of friends, family, and loved ones that make up the extended Tech family.
Sadness in VA
I concur with everything previously said by our current and past VAYD presidents and send my heartfelt condolences and prayers to the entire Virginia Tech community. This is a sad, sad day for Virginia and the United States and I hope that we can learn from this incomprehensible tragedy to make Virginia and the country a safer and more compassionate place. My heart goes out to all affected by this tragedy. Please feel free to contact me, as well.

YDA/VAYD Statement on the Virginia Tech Tragedy
The Young Democrats of America, in conjunction with the Virginia Young Democrats, have posted the following statement:
In the wake of this incomprehensible tragedy, the students, faculty and staff of Virginia Tech are in the thoughts and prayers of Young Democrats across America today.
The Young Democrats of America and all of our chapters send our sincerest condolences to those who have suffered the devastating loss of friends and loved ones. We hope those injured in this ghastly and unfathomable act of violence will be blessed with a speedy recovery.
Why the lives of these young people - sons and daughters - have been cut tragically short defies any rational understanding. On this solemn day, however, all Americans must come together with strength and resolve to support our brothers and sisters in Virginia as they pray for those who are recovering and mourn these unfinished lives.
