With Election 2009 behind us, VAYD is already getting ready for 2010. This weekend, a group of members of VAYD's executive board met in Arlington at the ACDC Headquarters to go over plans for the coming year. First on our agenda: Legislative Fellows for the House and Senate Democratic Caucus, and (building on our work in NOVA this past cycle) organizers for the Special Senate election in Fairfax.

Last year, VAYD provided a stipend for legislative fellows to work for Democratic committee staffs in the House of Delegates. This year, we'll be expanding the program to include Senate committees as well. Check our homepage this week for more information on the program!
Building on our successful work in Northern Virginia this cycle, VAYD will be hiring one or two organizers for the special Senate election to replace (I can't believe I have to say this name for the next four years) AG-elect Ken Cuccinelli.
