Who are these other people on my ballot?

Many Young Democrats know that Creigh Deeds is the Democrat (and coincidentally, the best person) running for Governor. A fair number of folk are still not too familiar with the other candidates running. While the Sierra Club has a great web-page KeepChangeAliveVA.com that highlights the candidates and their records on the issues, it seems very appropriate to make sure that YDs across the state know all of the down-ballot candidates as well.

Creigh Deeds for Governor
It just needs to be said again that Creigh is the best person for the job, period. The Washington Post editorial page does a great job of highlighting exactly why Creigh Deeds will make Virginia a better place to work, raise a child, and start a business.

Jody Wagner for Lt. Governor

Jody Wagner is awesome. A businesswoman and mother of four, Jody is from Virginia Beach, and served as Governor Warner's Treasurer of the Commonwealth and Governor Kaine's Secretary of Finance. Aside from being the best person for the job Jody Wagner would be the would be the first woman elected statewide since 1989. With her experience and expertise, we think it's time to make Jody our new Lt. Governor!
(Note: Jody Wagner is endorsed by The Washington Post. Her opponent, the incumbent Lt. Governor Bill Bowling, has missed 94% of his meetings! Yech!)

Delegate Steve Shannon for Attorney General
As a former prosecutor, Steve Shannon knows what it takes to be Virginia's top cop. A Delegate who has earned a reputation as the leading advocate for child safety in the General Assembly, Steve Shannon knows what it takes to be Virginia's top lawyer. As private citizens, Steve and his wife Abby helped lead the effort to create Northern Virginia’s AMBER Alert system to help rescue abducted children.
Delegate Steve Shannon has been endorsed by The Washington Post, The Virginia Pilot, and The Free-Lance Star because his opponent is, well, a little weird...
