WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Virginia Young Democrats (VAYD) are proud to announce a campaign partnership with a coalition of D.C. College Democrats Chapters. The partnership between VAYD and these chapters will yield thousands of voter contacts for Democratic Delegate candidates and the statewide slate of Democratic candidates, Creigh Deeds for Governor, Jody Wagner for Lt. “Creigh Deeds is the only candidate with a real plan to fix transportation,” said Sean Holihan, President of the Virginia Young Democrats. “Creigh’s bi-partisan record as a legislator makes him the best positioned candidate to craft a transportation plan that works. Our partnership with these D.C. College Democrats chapters will go a long way in helping us fix our transportation woes and win in November.”
“Washingtonians are impacted by what happens in Virginia. When Virginians can’t get to work in D.C. because of traffic, it hurts the region’s economy,” said Bo Hammond, Campaign Director for the Campaign Director for the American University Democrats. “When Washingtonions can’t get out to Dulles to fly or to Arlington and Alexandria for a night out, it hurts the region’s small businesses. Even from D.C., we’ve seen how Democrats have kept Virginia the Best Managed State in the Nation. We want to help our Virginia friends keep it that way.”
The Virginia Young Democrats are a statewide organization for Democrats under the age of 35. With 51 chapters and 13,000 members, the Virginia Young Democrats are the premiere volunteer organization for Democrats in the commonwealth.
The coalition of D.C. College Democrats includes the chapters at American University, Catholic University of America, Trinity University, and Howard University.
