Last month, Attorney General Cuccinelli found himself in a familiar place: instructing someone not to protect LGBT rights. This time, he was at odds with the Board of Juvenile Justice, which oversees the Department of Juvenile Justice. Despite the expertise of this board and their overwhelming desire to pass a non-discrimination policy for LGBT youth in the system, Cuccinelli has once again threatened action from his office.

Last summer, Human Rights Campaign and Servicemembers United launched the Voices of Honor Tour to promote full equality in the United States Armed Forces. In the upcoming weeks, Virginia has the privilege of hosting this important action, as there will be events in both Blacksburg and Arlington as part of this tour. Please come out to show your support for this necessary cause. This is an important time for all Americans to stand up for their civil equality, national security and human rights.

In a disappointing turn of events, the California Supreme Court upheld Proposition 8, a referendum banning same-sex marriage. What's puzzling is that they allowed the already issued marriage licenses to remain valid. What message does this send the average citizen? It's alright to have a same-sex marriage license as long as you were quick about it?
